The time of year for winter storms is upon us. Maybe not as much here in the southeast as in other parts of the country. The tips for preparedness are the same.
Most of us think of the rush for bread and milk. Generally speaking, in the Charlotte area, we usually are inconvenienced for a couple of days.
Maybe a couple more if you have kids in school.
Just in case we do get a wicked week of winter blasting the area, it is best to be prepared. The basics we all consider are water and batteries. Not everyone has a generator,
things like extra blankets, power banks for phones, first aid kits and tarps could be needed. Where do you keep your vital records? Are they accessible?
Check with your neighbors and neighborhood pets prior to inclement weather. Have a plan for basic assistance for them as well just in case the need arises.
We have attached a link with a great 'Winter Storm Action Plan' from Liberty Mutual. The procedures let you know what to do BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER.
Please take the time to review this. Download it to your computer. It is great to reflect on later. Great to share with friends and family in other parts of the country.
We care about you and your families. We are part of a community that cares.
